Description:I. PURPOSE OF JOB

Under broad supervision, the position reports to the Director, Warehouse Operations and has responsibility to provide technical and analytical support regarding the logistics operations of the company.

II. SCOPE

The scope will include warehousing, transportation, and inventory management operations within the warehouses ensuring timely and efficient delivery of product to our customers.





Duties:III. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and oversee the daily activities of Domestic and International warehouses and solve problems as necessary.
• Create and provide analytical reports related to performance of BSSI’s logistics network.
• Negotiate the transportation contracts providing the best cost/service level for all domestic and international shipping.
• Monitor current performance and service standards for transportation services and warehouse personnel. Assist in developing new standards as necessary.
• Research and resolve inventory variations for domestic and international warehouses.
• Work closely with the Director, Warehouse Operations to develop and implement systems and strategies to lower operating costs and provide analytical support for special projects.
• Resolve BSSI customer problems/concerns regarding delivery of orders or other service failures related to logistics operations.
• Work closely with other functional groups in BSSI to understand their needs related to logistics and operational functions and lead special projects to better service all departments via the operations functions.
• Arrange special transportation and airfreight as required (warehouse transfers, return to vendor, etc).
• Ensure compliance to QA/ISO procedures and develop and implement new Standard Operating Procedures as required.
• Travel to warehouses to provide training, support and ensure compliance to SOP’s.
Qualifications:
IV. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Education:
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts required.

Experience:
• Three to five years logistics/operations experience in one or more of the following areas: Warehousing, inventory management, transportation.

Skills:
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good organizational skills.
• Detail Oriented.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques.
• The ability to develop strong working relationships with internal team members, customers, and vendors.
• Experience negotiating contracts with carriers both domestically and internationally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong computer skills including:
 database experience (preferably MS Access) or Server Query Language (SQL)
 spreadsheet use (preferably MS Excel)
 Word-processing (MS Word)
 Ability to learn new software applications.
